I miss the days Apple allowed you to upgrade your own SSD & RAM.

Compare Apple's BTO rate adjustments to today's prices...

SATA 2.5" SSDs costs around this much

    4TB $400
    2TB $210
    1TB $110
    500GB $60
    250GB $40
    120GB $20

NVMe M.2 SSDs costs around this much

    2TB $493
    1TB $170
    500GB $90
    250GB $70

    RAM costs around this much

    $64 16GB DDR4 2666MHz (2 x 8GB)
    $128 32GB DDR4 2666MHz (2 x 16GB)

Would be awesome if all 2019 Macs came with 16GB of RAM by default and a Fusion Drive with 128GB NVMe SSD & 1TB SATA SSD.

Keep in mind that 9th Gen Intel chips accepts 128GB of RAM.

I now ordered 2 x Kingston ValueRAM 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4 Non-ECC CL19 SODIMM 2Rx8. Lets hope it is working. I'll get back on this when RAM is installed.
