If so, where can we download the version which is not a beta or a version prior to the beta?

    :)

YM Version 3 Beta 1 worked well in Tiger. I now have YM Ver 3 Beta 2 in Leopard. I haven't tried the camera yet. But this version beachballs after startup. After that, it is ok. For old versions you can search through the help files. they may have older versions there.

For those who have a hard time ( taking too long ) to log in, using Yahoo Messenger Version 3.0 beta 2 (build 78326) and is also using Adium 1.1.4 you can try this trick...

Before using Yahoo Messenger, log in first using Adium then logout
then log back in using Yahoo Messenger. Its weird, but it works for me.
    ( I'm using a Mac Mini G4 - Mac OSX Tiger 10.4.11 )

You only need to do this once or until you get the login delay in YM again.

Anyone have a clue why YM is Windows biased? Is Apple not wanting it to compete with its own iChat? Or is YM being lobbied by Microsoft.

I'm guessing it's taking a while for Yahoo to notice the trend of increasing Mac sales. Yahoo! Messenger has been one of the perennial apps that have always been several (big) steps behind it's Windows cousin.

Personally, I'm happy with Adium and between Skype and iChat's excellent audio and video capabilities, I have no pressing need for an updated Mac version of Yahoo! Messenger, but for the sake of everyone who would want the latest features for YM, I hope Yahoo steps up development of the Mac version soon.

After fixing all the bugs they have on the current BETA version, they should fix their Audio chat capability. They have it on Windows, why not on OS X?

That's what I mean. It seems they are compromising YM for OS X. Who are they protecting? Oh, I seem to occasionally totally lose sound. I suspect YM causes this. Anyone else experiencing this in Leopard?

And what is this? Is this spam or is my iBook infected?

that's spamming, just click '"report spam" so that they will block future spamming by that user...

Because of all of these problems, I've switched to Skype as my main (temporary) chat application. So much better......
