Anyone get NFS:SHIFT yet? I got my copy the other day and from just 24hrs of playing, I was completely blown away.

NFS games have always bordered on the more arcade style of driving, you know, point left and the car turns left instantly without any degree of finesse whatsoever.

SHIFT aims to break that tradition by combining the lessons they learned from PROStreet and by bringing in the developers from GT World challenge, offering a much more in-depth racing sim like atmosphere, like Forza and Gran Turismo.

The phyisics are absolutely phenomenal, everything from the basic understeer and oversteer characteristics to even wheel hop when you turn in too hard or miss your optimum launch RPMs is just amazing. What these guys did with the NFS game engine is just mind boggling. Even taking my now Works* modified Nissan GTR around the Nordschleife (Nurburgring) is harrowing and demanding even with some of the driving assists turned on, every bump and bend is felt through the vibration of the controller and has direct impact on the car's handling. The realism doesn't stop there, even damage has adverse effects to your cars handling and performance, not just rending cosmetic, but even physical damage on the car, so if you take too many hits, you may effectively disable your car in the middle of the race.

I can say with now without a doubt, that I can highly recommend this game to all veteran and new NFS players out there. If I had to give this game a rating it'd be 10 out of 5 stars... it's that good.

    * Works Modification - The top level upgrad for your car, turning it in to one mean GT machine!

Available for the Playstation 3, Xbox360, PSP and PC

I got mine for the PS3 @ Datablitz, I even got a voucher to unlock the M3 GT2 racecar even if I didn't preorder. :)

@ Jumper - waaaaaaaaaaay different, no storyline, it's more of a racing sim than arcade racer. :)

Hehe, that makes two of us. Be prepared to forget about everything older NFS games taught you and learn proper driving skills! :D

from the screencaps, i'd say that this game has the best, most realistic in-car cockpit view ever. this is exactly what we see from the driver's seat.

g-forces make the POV zoom in and out, side to side, probably up and down in relation to your braking, steering and camber. awesome!

It does, the graphics aren't as polished as Forza or Gran Turismo 5, BUT, the driving dynamics are up there.

We have a G25 ( metal wheel, 6 speed H gate shifter and clutch pedal, but due to some abuse, mostly from GT5 Prologue, the wheel's busted.

Waiting for Logitech to release the G27 since it adds a shift light (a-la Formula1) and revised paddles. Some reviewers say that SHIFT is awesome with the wheel.

@ notoryus - I dunno, but the specs on the box looked pretty demanding. I only have the PS3 version. :)
