Because of the problems encountered by many when updating from Software Update (SU) the 10.5.6 update, I was holding off using SU and was planning to just download the combo update from the Apple site (and I'm doing a lot of papers, so I can't afford to lose my files). Because the "Check for Updates" is on, it has been alerting me for a few times about installing and restart. I clicked "Show Details," and the digital raw compatibility and the 10.5.6 update with 190MB were there. I know when this will happen since it uses up a lot of my memory upon start-up.

    My questions are:
    1. Does SU download the updates already even though I'm not clicking the "Install and Restart" yet?
    2. If they were downloaded, will the updates take up space even though I will be using the combo update?
    3. Finally, will there be problems if ever I use the combo update with the SU update still existing?
