^ Mavs now have their all-Euro Big three! 1. KP 2. Luka 3. Dragic X EDIT: Dragic will not be part of the Butler deal
You know how the Knicks feel right now? Think Princess Leia seeing her planet Alderaan blown to bits by the Death Star...
They've got nobody else to blame but their ownership. They were unwilling to commit a max offer to KD because of his injury. It is apparent now that where KD goes, Kyrie follows. All that max space that they have opened up through the years has been put to waste --- again. Just because they were penny-pinching on KD. Sure, it's a risk but the Knicks would have had his commitment plus Kyrie for four years. What's their alternative now that they made this dumb decision? Julius Randle? <face-palm>
And the drama continues. The dominoes have started falling after the KD decision. Next set of dominoes will fall once Kawhi announces his decision. It sucks for a Dubs fan to lose Iggy though but as they say, business is business. He played really well last year but we all know he's very close to retiring as well. It would have been awesome if he retired as a Warrior.
It looks like the Warriors are in a rebuild mode, even though they don't call it that. With KD to the Nets. Iggy gone, Klay out for most of the season & Livingston probably retiring, it's going to be hard for the Dubs to have a competitive roster. Looney may also be gone in FA. Hopefully the Dubs can be competitive again in 3 years. We're now at the beginning of the post-Curry era.
Brooklyn may have KD now but not yet, not this season, and it remains to be seen if he can provide the same intensity and output he had pre-ACL tear...Irving taking charge of a young crew is like he had been thru in Boston so would it work? Dre Jordan is the one consistent cog that the Nets can look forward to tho' So both the Lakers and Clippers all await Klaw and His Decision, and if he stays in Toronto, it would be all for naught about getting the third wheel in their chemistry of winning now than later...
I am not used to watch NBA TV at this time (9pm Manila). But they are live right now for updates on the free agency fever. Still on the watch: Kawhi Leonard, Danny Green, the Morris twins, Kelly Oubre Jr, Seth Curry, Kevon Looney, DeMarcus Cousins
So now the Lakers are scrounging the bottom of the barrel after watching the whole gamut of FAs taken in fast by other teams. At least taking in Iggy is not a downer for them. And what of the Clippers? Still hoping the Klaw changes his mind?
Rumor: it looks like Kawhi will likely remain with Toronto where he is its certified superstar, and not the L.A. Lakers where two more superstars are ahead of him. But knowing how Kawhi can make a 180-degree turn, he might just end up with the Clippers just to spite us all. - someone whose initials are S.S. Fact: Bobi Marjanovic isn’t the tallest NBA player this season. Tacko Fall is, at 7’7”, that is if he gets to play somehow with the Celtics, who already have 4 big men in its roster. The other stratospheric NBA ingenue at 7’2 is Bol Bol, who had to wait a Manute for him to be drafted 44th by Miami.
Oh the power that Kawhi is wielding right now is insane. He can either bring new balance (pun intended) to the league by going back to Toronto or join the Clippers. OR, he can team up with Lebron and AD to be part of this new super-team where almost all other teams would become nearly irrelevant. And boy does Kawhi and his camp know this power and are milking every last bit of it. Uncle Dennis was played to be an idiot the way he handled Kawhi's Spurs exit (costing him millions) but this offseason has been masterful. They have ALL the leverage. Reports are Kawhi will make his announcement on the 4th of July (Fireworks baby!).
