Multiple Libraries in iTunes7 (and iPhoto)

Found this interesting article in Lifehacker:

The recently-released iTunes 7 has added the much wished-for ability to manage multiple music libraries, and the Klavr weblog points out how simple it is.

Switching libraries is simple; hold down the option key on your Mac (or shift key on Windows) when you launch iTunes et voilà, you'll get the option to create a new library or choose the library you want to load. For iPhoto users, this is the same shortcut you would use if you wanted to manage multiple libraries in iPhoto. Shareware app Libra iTunes library manager used to give users a way to do this, but it's nice to see Apple add this feature directly to iTunes (and yes, free is always better). — Adam Pash

I really don't have THAT many songs to slow down iTunes enough to require a separate library -- but hey, maybe other 'muggers will find a use for this?

The iPhoto tip is NEAT though. Now I can separate my Photo Libraries which have grown to a point where it actually DOES slow down iPhoto.

I always wondered though why Apple implemented this on iPhoto but not in iTunes.
