I honestly feel that this is a good move for TomTom... and competition. Huawei will use TomTom for maps now that it's cut off from Google | Engadget
Wish this would come to our Mi stores at the same price. I need a great burner phone to bring to places like quiapo, cartimar, etc. Probably a gym phone and for watching movies/series overall. Not the strongest of the bunch, but wow, finally a cheap 120hz phone.
Already upgraded my iOS phone to iPhone 11. Next is my Android phone. Eyeing on the Asus ROG Phone 2. Any feed backs?

Can anyone give me some ideas on how to accomplish the following? I have set up a Globe pre-paid plan for a child and she's using a hand-me-down Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro with it. I want to control data usage as it only has 1GB of data allocation per month. The rules are simple... 1. On WiFi, all apps are allowed internet access 2. On mobile data, only a handful of apps that I've specifically whitelisted will have access to the internet. Everything else are blocked Doable?
I think I know where you're going with that, but it's not the same. Kids being kids, she's still unable to differentiate WiFi from mobile data. To spare the child from having an adult with multiple IT certification explain it to her, I just want to do the things I mentioned above. Why? I want to prioritize mobile data to be used by the ESET Parental Control app. This particular app provides a number of protection for my children, among other things, web security, app rules, screen times/time limits, scheduling, reporting and most important to me, child locator/geo-fencing. The location feature requires internet connection. With geo-fencing, I get a notification when they leave home, they've arrived at their school, when they leave school, and finally when they get home. If 1GB proves to be too much for ESET's functionality, I can open up more apps like Viber and/or Google Maps.... but definitely not video streaming like YouTube Kids, etc. But these rules should only be in effect when she's on mobile data.
I used to use NetGuard - No Root Firewall after going back to Samsung from OnePlus (which has a built-in data (and/or WiFi) blocker for apps). NetGuard will create a VPN connection which will redirect traffic to NetGuard firewall app and from there will apply rules created to block or allow app to internet via mobile data (and/or WiFi).
I use this a lot with WhatsApp and Messages while driving... Line messenger now works with Google Assistant on Android | Engadget Google Translate's transcription mode is now available on Android | Engadget
Huawei P40 *** Posting Singapore prices for comparison... P40 - S$1,048 P40 Pro - S$1,448 P40 Pro+ will be announced at a later date Galaxy S20 - S$1,298 Galaxy S20+ - S$1,498 Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G - S$1,898 iPhone 11 - S$1,149 iPhone 11 Pro - S$1,649 iPhone 11 Pro Max - S$1,799 *** IMO, as expected... Nice phones from Huawei, lack of Google Play is still a deal breaker for me. P40 is reasonably priced as the phone has a lacking feature (Google Services) But will choose the S20+ over the P40 Pro anytime.
