hi guys! do you know of any Mac-compatible (even Windows-compatible) software that could remove the voice from a mp3 file in order to turn it into a minus-one version? thanks!
I'm not an audio expert or anything but I have not heard of any software that can do that. That would require separating or isolating recorded sounds into different channels (channels determined and controlled by the sound engineers in the recording studio) so that might require pretty specialized systems. In any case, I hope somebody here, especially the iMusicians can help you out with your search. Cheers!
try googling analog x vocal remover. i tried that way back in windows it doesn't work too well however. i believe this feature is also available in wavepad for windows.
Having created dozens of vocal-less MP3s for my students for 8 years, the best one I've used personally is Adobe Audition. The center channel extractor, used with the proper settings here and there, will get rid of Regine's screeching vocals in about a minute. Unfortunately, it's Windows only.
- Wikipedia This might require you to filter out the frequencies above to create a minus one. However, you will also incidentally remove other parts of the song
