My friend has a XRAID 3.5 TB (States)
How can he get 250K files of mp3’s to be served up simultaneously on a network to 10 machines while we write and read to the xraid. What is the biggest and baddest application for users of large media volumes – like picture libraries.

His concern is that everytime his storage of MP3's reach to 90,000,
users has problems downloading it. He needs an industrial solution
or application to resolve this concern. He tried compressing the MP3's, but
quality was poor according to him.

Probably some problem with the File Allocation Table. I know that there's a limit to the number of files you can store under one directory/subdirectory (folder/sub-folder in our parlance). i suggest he store a couple of thousands of file per directory/folder and see what happens.
