does anyone here use The Missing Sync as a conduit between their mac and palm pda? i'm considering purchasing it as a conduit between a mac and a treo and was wondering if it was worth the $40. primarily i would use it to enable AvantGo.
i'm using missing sync for my xda2, works like a charm. I haven't personally tried it for the Palm since back then I just used the Palm Desktop for the Mac. But the features of Missing Sync for palm looks interesting.
Thanks to Maverick's intro, I got Missing Sync (and a brand new O2 XDA mini)... works flawlessly with the mac.
I'm using The Missing Sync for Palm OS with my T3. Works flawlessly, including iSync. One of the features I use the most is the ability to mount my T3's SD card on my desktop, makes it a lot easier to manage my files.
I actually detest missing sync. The developers over there aren't really following up with a lot of requests such as synchronization with Entourage, the mail app and notes/stickies. I would've purchased pocketmac if it had accepted Philippine Credit cards.
after i tried missing sync, i went back to palm desktop. and boy, it was a pain to move back since missing sync sorta messes up all the sync connection between my palm and powerbook. had to re-install palm desktop again and manually move some files around to make it work again.
Does it sync the birthdays from the T3 to the Address Book? What about the categories? Those are the 2 things that I really need. So far, using Apple's Palm conduit messes me up all the time. If The Missing Sync can fix that for me, then, I wouldn't mind paying the $40 for it. H [Edited on 1-3-2005 by hoho]
Just tried it now, it doesn't. I use DateMate on my T3 and that one does sync with iCal. Doesn't do that too. What I do is add the category to the contact's Note field. Makes it really easy to search and group them together in Address Book. I actually prefer that setup because I can have more detailed categories, i.e. Business: Restaurant: Japanese.
Oh well. I'll wait until that syncing does happen. In the meantime, Palm Desktop still works anyway... Thanks! H
