Please help recover my MB Alum. It might be somewhere sold or person holding it does not know how to return. Whatever... Any help will be rewarded. Thank you fellow philmuggers for your understanding. Though very embarrassing to report, I accidentally left my macbook in a taxi last Friday June 12. Am very saddened and disappointed with myself. I visited the Taxi garage Sat 4am to check the drivers out. The taxi was a red one, most probably a "Dollar" taxi (whose units are all in red). Unfortunately, I didnt jot down or recall the plate number. Not my habit, because of confidence. Sigh. Hard lesson. (knocking head) Here's What happened. It was 2pm. I was on my way to an overnight retreat (Was Speaker from 3-6pm yesterday) being held somewhere in Antipolo. I was focused on finding the place through sms instruction and asking bystanders. I was carrying the laptop bag, my iphone and a water vacuum jug. When the taxi finally found the place, I asked the apparent security person in that compound where the Retreat pax where. He insisted that we made a wrong stop. We had a little tense discussion because I was sure. Then, afar off in the compund, I saw a familiar face. We were at the right place. I immediately got off, carrying with both hands, my iphone and water. Was glad to talk to that friend who then explained to me where the actual retreat was. I listened for further instructions. It was almost 3pm. In my rush, I paid the taxi driver and the taxi left. After a moment, I just realized that, my laptop wasnt with me. The taxi is gone. So are all my files and pics and videos. Also my portable back.up drive where in the bag. Extremely disappointing. Please pray for me that the laptop be returned. Praying and Hoping for an honest Filipino. Here are the specs... Aluminum unibody Macbook 13". You can call Dollar Taxi here +63 (2) 9212383 if you're sure it was. And trace back who was out last June 12. You could have called at that moment you realized. Go to their head office if possible. They can trace back on who were out that time. Hope you can recover it.
Yeah there's still a possibility it will be returned to you. I hope the driver is one of the few good-hearted taxi drivers out there. Listen to AM radio stations (DZMM?), you might here your Mac being surrendered there in search for the owner. Dont lose hope!
Oh no, sorry to hear this. I hope it can be returned to you through the contact information on your Mac. Hope the driver have the right conscience to do something good for your laptop.
Have you tried asking that security person in the compound? Maybe he had a record of the name and/or plate number of the taxi cab.
I hope youll be able to find your computer... will be on the lookout later in the road what "brands" the other red taxis are...
