How to import video from micro mv camera to iMovie?

Can I transfer micro mv to mini DV without using a computer? Both camera do have analog IN/OUT port.

    Thanks....

I believe your Micro MV has 4pin Firewire as well as most MiniDV cams. So you could try doing a firewire to firewire transfer, but you'll need a 4pin to 4pin cable to do this. Haven't tried but it might work. Using Analaog RCA for both cams will work but expect generation or quality loss in the transfer.

Since MiniDV writes in DV format which is significantly higher quality than a heavily compressed format like MPEG-2 (which is what Micro MV uses) there might be some issues, especially using it on iMovie.

You could convert using DropDV before using the footage in iMovie or FCP.

Unfortunately ibook300bb, you're out of luck. AFAIK, the MicroMV is a new hybrid of MPEG-2 (developed by Sony) which isn't supported by iMovie, or any other software for that matter except of course by the included PC software of your camera, Sony MovieShaker. :(
