When that Makati Balintawak Skyway opens, they might open EDSA to tricycles too. Think about it. It's possible.

By then, it would be a good time to head to the mountains of Rizal and be a hermit. Or live a nomadic life in the Cordilleras. Or join the monks at the monastery. Or nunnery.

Better to disappear than not reach the life expectancy of humans in Metro Manila, which is 65, the major cause of morbidity being heart disease and stress-related diseases. Traffic causes stress. Stress kills. Don’t want to be a statistic.

    Mm....November 2019 skyway update:

as always, ganda ng kuha niyang drone shots.

swerte ng mga property owners na malapit sa new skyway. Instant taas presyo.

parang ahas...will be ready soon to swallow edsa traffic.

    #trafficslayer.

I understand over-speeding outside NCR but in EDSA and other major roads? They gotta be kidding right? Overloading? Aren’t the buses doing this all the time? So after one time big time ops is over, back to overloading and over-speeding again right?

    Overspeeding in MM ?..

How would anyone enforce this on provincial roads and mountainside zigzags puzzles me...

Paseo to Tagaytay you'll just avg 40kph on a weekend..

"" On a sidenote.. Alabang HIlls Village Security mans the SanBeda Alabang stretch w/ Radar Guns to enforce their 40kph limit.. A female friend got fined speeding.. " She was flagged after she drop her kids who were running late for school =P

Have you guys noticed that, lately, there are many more ambulances on the road? I went out for just 2 hours today around QC and I counted 5 of them, sirens blaring, pushing the other cars to the side.

Surely they aren’t all legit, and they’re taking advantage, no?

Mm...my nurse/emt friend who used to duty sa Muntinlupa rescue says they use the sirens even though walang pasyente to part the traffic.

For me, okay naman because what can we do? Stop them and check? What bothers me more eh yun mga nakikisabay sa likod ng mga ambulance. Pagnabanga mo ambulance, you will cause real problems (risk the patient’s life).

In other countries, you don’t do that.

Or a lot of people are falling ill over traffic in the past few days. Stress and anxiety, even depression, has been going up according to WHO, and these are the result of the ultra hectic lifestyle we urban dwellers experience every day and night.
And a lot of people are dying in their homes or on the streets not for lack of medical care but failure of emergency services to provide quick and timely relief just because of, what else, traffic. My 84yo father had a medical emergency last week and had to be brought to ER but the hospital he was going to had all its ambulances still out and asked that my father instead be brought there WTF. Good thing it took a pill and some vigorous massaging to solve that medical issue. But clearly, how many more are not as lucky because of this horrendous traffic?

That's the thing, you can't tell and you have to give way whether it is or not. Years ago, an ambulance was trying to get through traffic in Zapote and when we gave way, I saw it turn off it's lights and park at the Jollibee Alabang. Four people got out and walked in. I'm pretty sure i'm not the only one that saw that.

Ambulances & PNP marked vehicles i don't mind letting them pass thru.. Emergency or Not..

What I am i seeing frequently are unmarked tinted SUVs, Vans & combination of them w/ HAGADS Escorts ZigZagging at Skyway lately.. Sometimes NB or SB..

Feeling entitled. It is always these (few) rotten eggs who tarnish and/or destroy the reputation of the whole industry / profession. Tsk. Tsk.

Many moons ago someone told me the story of an ambulance snaking its way through traffic as if there was a big medical emergency. Turned out it was only delivering "lechon" to a Christmas party. It's that time of the year again, apparently.

There have been a few times when I'm stuck in traffic near the Filinvest/Alabang exit, southbound, & have given way to ambulances. What I noticed is that instead of exiting to go to Asian Hospital, they continue on, assuming on to Manila. It would have been interesting to follow these ambulance & see what hospitals have facilities that can't be found in Asian Hospital.
