Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... It could have been sexier with a black back-lit keyboard. Wow.
Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... really tempting, but i think its wiser to wait a lil more longer for the macbook pro upgrade just wondering which is better ? macbook unibody 13 or the new macbook white? i think the price is almost the same if you buy a 2nd hand under warranty macbook unibody and new macbook white.
Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... Actually it should be a completely black unit. IMHO the blackbook was always the best looking MacBook.
Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... They made it very smooth and rounded on the edges like the Asus clam shell. though when Openend it doesn't seem like it. They also changed the coasting of the wrist pad. Its now glossy and easier to clean. Also a smooth surface? Since my MacBook has a very sharp edge or gap between the wrist-pad and the glossy outer coating.
Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... I'm also leaning on a Glossy Black. But the previous iteration of Black for the MacBook would also be nice. I passed the chance to get one of those as it was too steep back then.
Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... I was hoping to still find a dedicated audio input on the new macbooks. And a SD card slot.
Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... hope apple made the new macbook like 13" macbook pro except unibody aluminum enclosure but its hard for us to choose
Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... i agree! it is totally awesome and super cool! black macbook + unibody aluminum! hope apple also release special edition macbook pro!! i would be super nice!
Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... http://www.apple.com/macbook/design.html Cant help to feel down about this . lol
Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... this would be really bad ass in black.... hmmmm, you think you can just DIY paint it? haha
Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... You definitely can! And you can never go wrong with this approach: 1. Sand it down with fine sand paper (1000 grit will do) 2. 2 coats of primer 3. 2 coats of the color you want Scale modelling paints make excellent finish (Tamiya is a safe bet). You can use brush in applying primer but spray is better on the finshing coat. You can also try to take the panels off first so you can isolate the panels that you want to paint. Caveat: Proceed at your own risk
Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuRS6isOS_k or this, if you have some extra bread to extract with
Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... sigh ( apparently I need at least 10 characters to be able to post)
Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... Hmmm I wonder if this incarnation of the white MacBook will be more resistant to the wrist pad cracks that the previous generations sufered from. Did apple already address this? Dies the new unibody process or design make the wrist rests more resistant to cracks due to normal usage and wear and tear?
Re: New Macbook Polycarbonate Unibody is Out... That new MacBook looks so cute! It reminds me of a bubble. Or soap. Or an egg chair. If I were rich - or could afford anything with that price, for that matter - I'd get one! And leave my pro at home. XD Lack of firewire is no problem for me, since I don't really need it. And I do believe it'll be fine without the backlit keyboard, since it's white anyway. One of the images in Apple show the wrist rest (and the rest of that material on that part of the MBW) is glossy. Is it? Anyway. My love for the MacBook whites have been rekindled!
