Is anyone familiar with Mr. Clean Magic Erasers? They look like plain white sponges with an image of Mr. Clean lightly embossed on them. But don't be fooled by their appearance, these things clean like.. well.. MAGIC! My friend from the US sent these to me since we use them to clean our resin dolls. You just wet them with water and they will pick dirt up as if they're been infused with some ultra holy anti-evil dirt solution. I tried it on my iMac, and wow, he's SO WHITE now, and with hardly any effort at all. Sure beats the Staedler Eraser method! So my question is, does anyone know if this is available somewhere in the Philippines? It's really a fantastic product, and it's Mr. Clean after all, so maybe, just maybe we have it here? Hi! This product has already been mentioned here. They say it is available here in the Philippines. HTH - leslie -
Oh. Great. *slaps forehead* Search feature. Why didn't I use the search feature. It has always served me well >_< My apologies! Oh well, let's just dedicate this thread to it then. Does anyone know where in Manila you can purchase some? I know they mentioned Tru Value, but it was also mentioned that someone tried to purchase some at Tru Value and none of the people who work there even knew what it was. Maybe they know it by another name? [Edited on 5-24-2005 by yapi]
that was me! grabe...i feel so foolish going to a hardware store and asking for the magic "eraser" and they all look at me with blank stares. haha. may isa pa nga who said "miss yung national bookstore nasa..." i've been to 2 Tru Values and a couple of hardware stores, at wala talaga! anyone here seen it anywhere? kung wala, yapi can we order from your friend? hehehe of course, if it'll be pricey to have it sent over then i guess i'm fine with the eraser method [Edited on 5-24-2005 by poink]
Ahahahaha National Bookstore!! Winner yun XD I'll ask my friend how much these erasers cost (I don't even know!) and I'll see if she's willing to make padala a lot (you can only use the sponge once, but if you cut it up it should last you a little while naman). If she can't make padala, I think my ex in Jersey can ^^ Hopefully it won't be too pricey to have it brought here. Magaang lang naman yung sponge eh! But before that, my friend and I will go hunting around hardware stores for these erasers first! Baka you need to show them what it looks like for them to know it. I still have one sponge intact, so I can bring it with me when I go around hardware stores looking for them. We need these sponges for our dolls! And if we find a store that has them, pakyaw time!!!!
Ah, those magic white sponges? First one I had was given free a couple of years ago when i bought a computer for our office from PC Corner on Katipunan (closed now). They had lots of boxes of the stuff, and i remember reading the box info--- it seemed to be locally manufactured, or repackaged. Bought another one from some computer store (Megamall? can't remember) for around sixty pesos. Forgot about it until this thread.
Oh yes, i didn't use the sponge just once. Washed it out with water and kept using it until it disintegrated... At the end it no longer looked snowy white but it could still take on some nasty jobs! The second sponge i got, i did cut up into pieces first.
Here's the actual product shot (obvious ba na interested din ako sa product na ito???) [Edited on 5-25-2005 by berniej]
Haha I guess you can use it more than once if it's a big piece. Since you've tried both methods, which is better? Re-using one big piece until it's gone or cutting it up in tiny pieces? What makes it last longer? Although I'm kinda iffy about keeping around a dirty looking sponge. The maid might think it's basura and throw it away. Oh no, my precioussssssss! Ooooh so that's how the box looks like! Thanks, Berniej, this will make the hunt easier! ^_^v [Edited on 5-25-2005 by yapi]
Hi People, I was the one who was able to buy from Tru Value. Sorry that I failed to mentioned that you should tell them "Mr. Clean Magic Eraser". Oh by the way, I bought it in the Parksquare branch Tru Value HTH
ahehe... I can see a herd of muggers stampeding to the Tru Value branch in Parksquare! Thanks, Netskipper! - leslie -
yeah, that's what i said to them...na mr. clean sya. and i even looked around, up and down the aisles and didn't see it. parksquare branch din. hm...unless it was on the TOP shelf.....
I'll go look for it myself. Funny thing is that I asked someone there and he/she immediately knew what I was looking for. It was not on the shelves but in one of those gondolas. Well they aren't really gondolas more like small tables in between the ends of the aisles and also they are not displayed prominently Sayang, this is an old topic na. Maybe they didn't restock anymore bec it didnt seem like it sold well.
Inspired by this thread, I went on over to Ace Hardware at Market! Market! and found "Super Eraser" Cleaning Pads and it looks exactly like the picture yapi posted. I'll try this out later today and report what happens. (I hope this doesn't *melt* my iBook )
Found it in True Value for P47.75. It is indeed called "Super Eraser". Tried it already - works as well as Mr. Clean! Walang pakyawan ha, there's plenty naman eh!
Slightly unrelated but... ... has anyone found a local supplier for this? The Mr. Clean AutoDry ... "The Future of Car Washing Technology"
