For those who are looking for a Front Row alternative, try the new Freeware Media Central. Well, according to Lifehacker.com, it works pretty much the same way as Frontrow and a bit more. I'm not sure if it works with iPhoto too. Well, gotta try it when I get home.

Works as advertised. Sayang walang slide show viewing but it has a TV option for those with compatible hardware.

Different animals. VLC is a media player much like Real, Quicktime and WMP. Media Central and Front Row are sort of a Media Center where you can access you audio, video and picture files using applications like the ones I mentioned plus more.

would there be any conflicts if you install it in a system with front row/enabler?

i downloaded it just now and immediately a download update appeared after i fired it up. i must say, it's pretty neat but i still like the front row's animation.

I'm so addicted to this application! Forget Front Row, MediaCentral shows ALL trailers, not just a selection. It also allows me to watch WebTV.

If you have Salling Clicker, here's the link to the remote script.

    Coolness!

Will Media Central and Sailing Clicker work on older Macs? I have a Oct.2004 era 12" iBook.

I think it will work with your iBook.

The only thing I don't like about MC is it does not scale back automatically between displays. I work with a 17" lcd at home and it works ok there. When detaching the display to use my PowerBook's 12" lcd and run MC it will still work in 17" mode with areas of the main gui cutoff. I've already contacted the developers and I hope they get it fixed soon.

it's become a nagware. Don't download this version if you've been enjoying Media Central already.
