Hi. I just bought a new macbook pro unibody and I've been using it for the past couple of days. Recently, my keyboard stopped illuminating and the laptop doesn't seem to recognize my bluetooth. So I googled and found out that I can reset the SMC. So I did that and now the keyboard lights up again and I can use the bluetooth. But the iSight doesn't work now. I already tried everything I can find on the web but the webcam just refuses to work. I even did a fresh install of Leopard and have done a PRAM reset but no luck. Everything worked perfectly when I first started up my laptop in the shop where I bought it. I hope you guys can help me with this. Thank you!
Keyboard illumination may have been set too low, your iSight camera not working even on Photo Booth? which app does the iSight camera fail?
Yes, iSight does not work in Photobooth. I checked the system profiler but it's not listed there. I tried changing my picture in the Accounts pane but it says I don't have a camera. Same with Yahoo Messenger. Keyboard illumination works now. But sometimes it stops working and whenever I press F5 and F6, it just shows the illumination symbol with a circle and a slash. Like the 'no smoking' sign. Thanks.
this means you've set it so low, it's turned off. make sure you adjust it correctly with your F5 and F6 par mei ilaw regarding your isight, if it's really conking, have a service center look into it. you have one year warranty.
Still won't work... Di bale, tumawag na ako sa digital walker. They'll check it tomorrow since none of their technicians are available now. Thank you sir Chetiboy!
Hey guys, I have the latest entry level MBP 13". It froze on me twice before (blue screen) but tonight was a different story. I was just browsing the web (Facebook) & viewing documents when the screen suddenly turned black and my MBP went off. What could have caused this and what should I do? *Sorry for hijacking the thread. Dint want to make a new one.
I have the same problem. I searched the web, reset the PRAM and SMC but still iSight is not working. These are the troubleshooting I did but still in vain: 1. Reset the PRAM 2. Reset the SMC 3. Login to another account to check it's not user-specific 4. Checked other apps that use iSight (i.e. YM, iChat) for consistency 5. Restarted, shut down the computer 6. Checked the System Profiler Do you have the same experience? I don't want to go to the Service Center yet until I've exhausted other options.
Backup your data using TIme Machine. Use Disk Utility Repair Permissions. Restart. Check for symptoms. If symptomatic, do a Software Update. Restart and check for symptoms. If still symptomatic, head off to an Apple repair facility.
just got my mbp 15 last month and has anyone of you experienced hearing, i think its the hard drive, whirring or making an unusual soft sound like something is vibrating??? is that normal?
If I remember correctly, there was a hard disk issue before on the unibody MBPs. They are eligible for HD replacement. Although I think it only affected the Seagaet 500GB 7200 variants. Google it or try to search here and maybe yours is covered.
I think you can turn off the auto light sensor some where in the system preferences. I think you can find it as a check box in display under system preferences.
i think the one on my mbp now is hitachi problem is im abroad and won't be back sometime soon they have very poor mac service here almost equivalent to none
just tried putting in a cd is it really noisy when the mbp gets the cd in and coughs it out? and it sometimes hangs on safari does this happen to anyone elses mbp 15?
