After almost a year, it happened to me again. Magsafe not lighting and not charging :(

My MBP was drained and it took quite some time before I recharged the battery. Could that be a cause why the nagsafe isn't charging? I forgot to charge my MBP it was around 2% nalang and I went out after 5 hours, I went home and when i plugged my magsafe adapter it won't light and charge.

    Anybody encountered this?

Update: Tried to plug it again. It worked! Thank God! But it's weird that it won't charge last night.

I suggest you buy the apple brand. Do not sacrifice your Mac in using not original Apple Magsafe. Check Beyond the Box, you might get a good deal.

Always buy original Apple products. I never buy 3rd party stuff for my Apple products as it might cause move damage and the cost of repair might be more expensive. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Use a cotton swab with a mixture of water and a bit of alcohol.

If you mean the prongs of the duckhead adaptor, that adaptor can be easily replaced, just ask around.

I've had the charger stop lighting up on me a couple of times, most recently last week. I never can pinpoint what causes or solves the issue, but after several hours of trying not to panic, it works again.

My uneducated guess, besides cleaning the head and fixing how the folding prongs are plugged in, is the that laptop or charger needed to reset to stabilize the flow of charge running through. The internet also suggests resetting the SMC or PRAM.

Seems like I got duped into buying a fake one over OLX. Should've trusted my gut feel and bought my replacement from Madmax168 again. :(
