    hi.
I don't understand why my MPB seems to freeze while updating from 10.5.5 to 10.5.6. i left it running for one day and the bar showing the progress of the update doesn't even move a bit.:(

i just pressed the power button to turn it off.

anyone knows how to solve this?

and for those who updated, is it worth? or would you suggest to leave it at 10.5.5?

    thank you.

How many times did you try to update?
Try repairing disk permissions through Disk Utility before updating first.
    Then update.

    Hi enoryt,

I encountered the same problem actually. What i did was just stop updating using the sofware updates and downloaded the upgrade from the Apple site. you can find the 10.5.6 update from the download section of the apple site.

    Hope this helps.

Same with mitchb and enshong, just download the upgrade to the site because sometimes there are bugs with software updates. Goodluck!

    hey guys!

many many thanks. i've just updated my OS 10! :) i'm running 10.5.6 now.

what i did was what you've all mentioned. i went straight to apple downloads and that just did the trick.

and the fun didn't end there, i've even installed the beta version of safari and whoa! i'm stunned by it. i love it. hope you guys try it as well.

    many thanks again.

Nice... I'm glad that worked out for you...

The New safari is totally awesome... i like it when it shows the history of the sites you have visited.

However, If you use a common computer at home. you will be policed. lol.

hehe that's the thing ruff, the way it displays the previous sites is brilliant. just make sure to reset safari after viewing some "spicy" sites. *big grin* hehe
