I am looking for a new MacBook and torn between these two:

    MacBook Pro (Secondhand)
    - 13-inch, 2017, 4 Thunderbolt 3 Ports
    - Processor: 3.5 GHz Dual-Core i7
    - RAM: 16 GB
    - With Touch Bar

    vs.

    MacBook Air (Brand-New)
    - 2020
    - Processor: 1.1 GHz Quad-Core i5
    - RAM: 16 GB

They're both almost the same price. What do you think I should choose? Thanks, guys.

... how long do you plan to keep it, and what will you use it for?

Simple browsing/office - then go with the Air, it will get longer MacOS support, it has the new keyboard and you get a brand new battery

    The Air got better specs.
    - Quad core

Plus - if you need the power of the Pro.. just hook up an EGPU later on via Thunderbolt 3.
