i picked up my MBP 13" from our local DHL office here in Davao late yesterday afternoon. it was either i wait for it's delivery today or that. it was a no-brainer, i had to pick it up! the delivery period was not bad, it was shipped last Friday 06/12 and arrived her yesterday Wednesday 06/17, and i thought it would spend more time in customs, whew! the DHL person even took awhile releasing the MBP as she was wondering why there's no duties to be paid when the item came from Singapore and it's a laptop. hahahay! anyways, it was a long few hours after that as we had to stop by the supermarket for groceries and my mother invited us out for dinner. finally -- here are some photos as some brief descriptions... the outer box was smaller than the previous gen Macbook's box also the foams where replaced by cartons to hold the packaging securely, easy on the environment the packaging is also significantly smaller than the previous macbook white very clean and simple, no styro foams to be found inside here's the power adapter, the discs and manuals on the black fold, and the extension cable on the right smaller box here's the Macbook Pro 13" on the table and once quick snap before...
OMG! what's with that screwdriver -- i didn't even get to turn on the MBP yet! it's easier than you think, just follow the instructions on the manual there, it's now a 320GBer yahooo! whole process took about 5 mins, i also noticed the hdd is now suspended by the screw mounts on rubber-like shock absorbers, no part of the HDD is touching anything, cool design checking the battery and there, turning it on for the first time, no WELCOME here from OS X, it's a reinstall! hehe! had to update a lot, too bad Safari 4 was not included in the install discs. it's all good now, using the MBP to post this. next stop is a 4GB memory upgrade, after i'm sure there's no problem bout the 4GB ram thingie like the MBu. happy camper here!
Nice! Congrats on your new macbook pro, but I'm just interested why the speakers of the the old and unibody macbook pro were not incorporated on the 13"?? (I mean the speakers near the keyboard) Hmmm... so it seems that it's like a "unibody macbook body" (with a new sd card slot) with specs of a MBP??? Any comments guys??
Ah beautiful pics! Thanks for sharing your first moments of your beloved Mac! Just a question though. Is this unit ordered from the Philippine Applestore? If so then, I'm glad that such deliveries are headache free! Ps. This post and sorely tempting me to get one of those babies. Must keep will power strong.
thanks guys! it was fun unboxing the MBP, though i was actually expecting a black box -- hehehe! well, at least i now know that ordering from the apple store is not a bad thing after all, especially if you're located in the province.
congrats to your new baby.. nice pictures as well.. i remember when i bought mine and the excitement of opening the box.. congrats again!
thanks for sharing such exciting photos of the "unboxing" which, for me, is probably also one of the main highlights of the whole apple experience.
still waiting for Charlie's 13" MBP stocks to arrive... ordered one 2.53GHz model with 500GB HDD upgrade and one 2.26 GHz model for a friend... the wait is killing me!.... ;o)
this unboxing got me srsly considering to buy a 13" instead of a 15" but i need the extra inches on the monitor for designing! rawr
