For some reason, my Mail once in a while asks for me to re-enter my password. The thing is, it always says that my password got rejected. Take note though that this only happens once in a while. And I don't do anything to reconfigure my Mail account at all. I haven't touched the settings since I first installed it. It works fine most of the time but sometimes it gives me that annoying password request that will last me until I restart my computer. Sometimes, even after I restart it, it still won't work. What's wrong? My mail is configured to my .Mac account.
I had thesame problem and I suspect it was a system glitch frommy service provider. I am using PLDT MyDSL and they use infocom fot their email service. [Edited on 5-12-2004 by peter_ob]
Go here http://tsg.info.com.ph/pldtdsl/ Click on web access/ Log in/ in you options bar try to change your infocom password and see what happens. If you encounter problems in their site I'd suspect them to be the culprit.
I use the .Mac mail settings not the PLDT. Although they are my ISP. Am still trying to access my mail but to no avail. I wonder what happend? any thoughts?
Hmm...I just tried accessing my .Mac webmail and I can't access the site. Maybe .Mac mail servers are down or something. Anyone else with a .Mac mail account experiencing problems? I noticed this around midnight last night...
The problem with Mail.app is that in interprets various mail problems as "password rejected." The password rejected dialog box also comes out when the connection between the client and the mail server times out or takes too long, even though the password you supplied is actually valid.
