Hi! I recently tried to use the Mail App but I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I configured it to pldtdsl.net, pero pachamba chamba lang yun check mail & sending mail ko :( I'd go to the account settings, click blindly and poof! it will work, but then it won't in the next breath. I'm the only mac user at home so no one can help me. Someone help? :)

Since you've been able to send/receive email, then it means that your Mail is already configured for your PLDT DSL account.

It takes me about 3-5x just to send email lately. I'm told it has something to do with PLDT DSL's mail filtering system. Very disappointing.

If you've been encountering problems with pldtdsl mail services. Try switching to gmail.
You can still download your mails via Apple Mail POP.

    Hth.

Good suggestion jopoy. That's what I actually did a few months back, I stopped using my PLDT DSL email account and switched to Gmail's POP and SMTP instead. I'd lose mail because PLDT would filter spam and I guess there are a lot of false positives. With Gmail, you can at least go online and check your junk mailbox. Another advantage of using Gmail is you're able to send email from wherever you're connected, no need to keep changing your SMTP settings.

You can even use your own domain and have it hosted with google apps :)

    Check their site.

It really amazes me how can google provide all these cool stuff for free.

Of course, you can, but only if you pay the yearly $19 fee. If your Yahoo has a .ph, .uk or similar extensions, then you can set up POP access for free, but be forewarned that Yahoo will be sending you many ads as well.
