Hey MUGgers! I've been using Mail App with my Gmail-IMAP and I recently asked a friend to send me some needed files. As usual, the attached files in the e-mail were downloaded by my Mail App. So I clicked "Save>Save All" from the e-mail and it asked me where I wanted to save the files. I clicked okay but then nothing gets downloaded - nothing really happens. I'm assuming that when my Mail App gets the files from Gmail-IMAP, I should be able to have the all of its attachments into my HD right? That means saving the files into my HD shouldn't even take a second right? Anyway, if anyone can help me with my problem regarding downloading attachments from my Mail App, that'd be a big help. I think that the Mail App is a great application and it'd be sad if it had limited capabilities than the browser-login method.
Go to Preferences > Accounts Select your Gmail IMAP account and click the Advanced tab. If the setting "Keep copies of messages for offline viewing:" is set to "All messages and their attachments" and you are sure the Mail app has finished syncing, then downloading your attachments should be quick. Otherwise, it'll download the files when you click Save All. Be patient. You may have a slow connection and downloading your attachment may be slow - especially when your Gmail account has thousands of emails in it. Gmail IMAP syncing is really slow particularly at slow connections like 512KBps when you have a large collection of emails.
