In your situation, since you mentioned possessing Android for a phone... None, especially considering El Capitan was *the* most responsive OS for me. If I had a choice between El Capitan and any of the newer OS that came after it, I'd happily choose the former. Not that us folks with newer MBP have a say in the matter anyway, we're more or less stuck with three OS options or else face consequences should we try and work our way around. And, well, the handshake between Mac and iOS made possible by newer OS is very convenient.
@Edelheid, thanks for the comments. One reason I'm not yet on HS is that some of my apps are not compatible with it. If they develop compatible versions, I may move to HS. As a rule, I tend not to upgrade until 6 months after the release of the new OS. There were so many negative comments about Sierra at the beginning that I just forgot to upgrade!
download ongoing.. https://itunes.apple.com/ph/app/macos-mojave/id1398502828?mt=12 Category: Utilities Release: 24 September 2018 Version: 10.14 Price: Free Size: 5.70GB
Mojave is noticeably snapier than High Sierra on a 2017 13" MBP. All apps I use work after the upgrade. Will try later on a 15" mid-2012.
Netflix/Prime Video streaming works on Safari version 12.0 (14606.1.36.1.9) on Mojave. But Safari on High Sierra version 12.0 (13606.2.11) doesn't.
Will wait for some time for any bugs to be cleaned. I only upgraded to High Sierra last night on my Retina MacBook Pro mid-2014; I'm still on Sierra on my iMac late 2012. I was surprised that inDesign CS6 still works on my MacBook Pro running High Sierra,
Downloading on 13" MBP w/ touchbar. Arghhhhh.... can't wait for dark mode (1hr 5mins to go for the download).
Done updating. After a minor annoyance during the first bootup (spinning beach ball of death), everything seems to be working fine now (needed to do a forced reboot). Camera handoff must be my favourite feature. I hope this extends to 3rd party apps like Outlook and non-Apple messaging apps.
Mine took 6 mins to download, 30 something minutes to install. Turned on dark mode, it needs getting used to!
Switching from Dark mode to bright web pages hurts my eyes more. Constant adjustments sort of defeats the purpose for me. I'm forcing myself to like it, but I just can't. They went too much on Mail and Messages... which I use a lot. The message headers for Mail (the middle pane) should have been left to be light.
Same sentiments here. But then, I also said the same thing when High Sierra was released. So far, I don't even feel the need to shift my OS since there's nothing really wrong with Sierra other than the urge to try Mojave's Dark Mode.
It's not ideal to my tastes, but you can turn any web page dark with the use of this one Safari extension: https://itunes.apple.com/nz/app/dark-mode-for-safari/id1397180934?mt=12 If you want to harness the darkness, maybe try HazeOver? It already worked a treat before dark mode existed, but sometimes it feels like they were made for each other. I only wanted an automatic day/night toggle for the theme switcher. The dark interface only hurts my eyes in bright environments, but at night I'm almost always working in a dim room. The one true positive of dark mode for me: many of my regular apps are going dark. 1Password, Agenda, Things 3, Transmit, and many others.
