    Hi guys!

This might be a long one so sorry in advance if a.) these things have been addressed in a different thread (I already searched though) or b.) it's too wordy.

I've had my MBP (early 2008 model) for approximately a year and 2 weeks now and so far, the only major problem I had with it was the Firewire connection malfunctioning when I used it for too long. I haven't tested that nor have I asked Apple to fix it since I could live with USB2.0. I also had the battery replaced late last year since it could just go an hour on one full charge instead of at least 2 and a half. Another minor issue was a few dead pixels, but they weren't too urgent for me to get them fixed right away.

After a while though (actually, on the last night of my warranty, which was also the day I got Applecare), my MBP wouldn't turn on. Turns out, it had the Black Screen of Death (a.k.a. logic board failure). Because I'm sort of dependent on my MBP for work, I had to take it to an Apple service center ASAP. I had trouble getting it fixed, since my Applecare had some delay being processed (I have no idea why). This left me without MBP for more than a week, meaning I had to stall work.

When I finally got it back, everything was normal. The dead pixels were still there on the LCD (since it wasn't the issue I had fixed), BUT yesterday, my left fan started making a rattling noise, like it was hitting some part of the 'chassis' or an object inside. From time to time it would still get noisy, but I had to ignore it since I was still catching up on work. Another thing that came up was an LCD problem. I'll just let the pictures do the talking:

The LCD problem comes up every now and then, but I haven't figured out what prompts it to happen.

My main worry is maybe my MBP's a lemon. I asked Apple through their 1-800-1441-0234 hotline if my model's part of the ones declared to be a bit defective, though (no offense, Apple), I'm sure they'd go with the safe answer and say it isn't.

What do you guys think I should do?

Looks like a backlighting problem to me. Sadly, I suggest you take it for repairs again. Probably something inside got knocked loose or wasn't fastened enough (Is the later one possible). It's better that way so that it won't become a bigger problem in the long run.

Hi Elx200001! Okay, LCD backlighting problem then. What about the other things though? Like the rattling noise? I'm scared this mac might become a frankenstein of new and old parts because of replacements..
