As a standard practice these stores will tell you that BTO will usually take 4 to 6 mos but actually when I placed my order to Beyond The Box it only took around a week in order for me to play with it
I was thinking of getting for myself as a birthday gift..I was also looking into purchasing from Hong Kong, but because of the hassles of taxes and customs, I now want to get it locally. Where do you guys think I can get a price near that to Apple HK? Thanks!
i don't see the justification on buying the 13 inch with retina display(given a limited budget)...unless of course you just have to because you love the screen and you have enough cash to spare... i'd go for the MBA for portability and pricing.... need a workhorse, get the 15 incher.
What do you guys think about this KBA from Apple? MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) and MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012): Do not use palm rest covers Do you think this applies to keyboard covers too? I forgot the white foam paper that comes with the MacBook that separates the screen from the keyboard, from the store. Hence, I am planning to get a keyboard cover to prevent keyboard marks on the screen since there is no screen protector available yet.
I just sent an email to Sir Charlie! I wonder how long it takes for a reply... I'm itching to get one! Haha!
Maybe not. The price tag says it all for me. The cost vs added screen aesthetic is not enough for me to warrant a purchase. I'm happy with my 13" MBP right now.
I was planning to get the MBP 13 Retina. But after reading this thread I'm having second thoughts. MBA 13 looks like a better buy.
yes the price tag makes it look like the 15" is better suited for anyone's budget, you get a bigger screen, discrete graphics card, quadcore proc, and 256gb SSD but you add around 20k, not bad for that i guess
I just saw one last night and tested it, it is beautiful. Really looks good, solidly built, but very expensive. Upgrade is inevitable, so yes, will buy one AFTER 3-4 years but it will be the 15" rMBP. My MBP will do for now.
At first, I thought maybe you meant pixel density. Then I checked, and BOOM! Same resolution nga! These would be invisible already to the naked eye.
Just tried a 13" rMBP at iStudio BHS, and it was gorgeous. Okay, it doesn't have the larger display of the 15, nor the power to drive it (and you nuts), but i gotta admit, it was one beaut of a machine, and I find it sexier than its bigger brother. But I prefer beauty+brains.
My professor has one. Been staring at it since class started. It really is nice to look at, but I still prefer the portability of my 11" MBA.
