The 13-inch model has the exact same ports as the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display. Its screen resolution is 2,560 x 1,600, four times the number of pixels of its predecessor. Its pixel count is higher than any competing 13-inch or 15-inch laptop from other manufacturer, displaying almost 2 million more pixels than a typical HDTV.
Like the 15-inch model, it has a 720p FaceTime HD camera and stereo microphones. You can get up to 768 GB of flash memory, Core i5 or i7 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and up to seven hours of battery life.

with $500 difference from the MBA? - wise buyers would lean more on the MBA I think. - unless they think that the retina display and new ports are worth $500 :)

if it had a better graphics card, pwede pa siguro :)

and oh, I hope the retina display they used on the 13-inch model wouldn't have the image persistence issue that the RDMBP-15 has :)

^ I agree (unless they have the money). Other than the retina display, there are no features to set it apart from the MBA. They should have made 256 Gb as the base storage and graphics. I'm glad I didn't wait for this and just got the 13" MBP (2012 non-retina). Well, that's just me.

Im second guessing if they'll bring retina display to MBA, battery life could be an issue, but nevertheless apple never fails to suprise us..:)
depending on the pricing here, maybe i'll get one,but sell my mbp 1st :)

for $500 additional, its tough to justify the retina display and other minor improvements for me. its like having a 4th gen ipad for the price of the retina.

if the rMBP is stuttering and frame choking when it's discreet video card is not switched on, i wonder how would something WITHOUT a discreet GPU handle all that pixels. 2880x1800 is not a joke for the intel4000, specially if it's displaying a lot of scalable objects on screen. i'm curious on how it's going to handle all that pixels.

I'm kinda disappointed with the price. I know it's not a fair comparison because of the size and weight, but you can get a baseline 15" MacBook Pro for much cheaper and that's what I'll most probably do for now. Retina displays are still too expensive, maybe next time Apple.

This is the MBA 2008 of Retina MBPs. My suggestion? You're better off with an MBA if you're not into the whole "retina" thing.
