hello fellow mac users! i tried to install "Harry Potter 5" video game (mac compatible of course;) ) but the process was prompted by an error message which reads something like (i cant remember the exact message) the system is not sufficient to install this game.

my macbook has a 1 gig memory, 80 gig hd, and i still cant believe why it couldnt install the aforementioned game.  any tips? or are there any macbook users here who can recommend other games?

    here are the System Requirements:

    System Requirements

    • Mac OS X v10.4.9 or later
    • 1.83GHz or faster Intel Core Duo processor
    • 1GB RAM
    • 6GB free hard-disk space
    • Video card: ATI X1600 series or later; NVIDIA GeForce 7300 or later
    • DVD-ROM drive
Note: This game does not support the GMA950 integrated graphics card.

    ---

i think you got the error because the MacBook's graphics card isn't supported..

IINM, i think you have the Harry Potter and the order of the Phoenix from EA. this is one of six (4 now, 2 later) titles released by EA for the Mac. All titles do not support the MacBook's graphics card (memory shared with RAM), they will only run on intel macs with dedicated (NVidia and ATI) video cards.

here's a list from intel of games that are compatible with the macbook's graphics card. note that some items on the list will require you to make adjustments to settings and such...

unfortunately, not many RTS games can run on an iBook G3 (i am assuming that's your mac as indicated in your sig). you can try Aspyr and download their Game Agent to check and see what games can run on your mac.

There are some very neat shareware games for the Mac that is also quite addicting. Have you tried Escape Velocity Nova by AmbrosiaSW? That consumed weeks of my life, very addicting!

Does this mean C&C 3 cannot be played on a macbook?

Hey guys, just got my new black macbook, what game do you guys suggest that i can play to test out how good the new GMA X3100 is for gaming? I'd prefer 1st-person shooters :) So I can share the results if I ever get to game on this.
