Dammit. There's a 480GB SSD drive now selling on NewEgg for $120 only!

Where has this been all my life? It isn't as fast as the new Samsung 950 Pros now, but heck, an SSD beats any physical drive any day.

Any feedback on the Samsung 850 EVO line? Does it have the same issues as the 840 EVO SSD's? Planning to get the 500GB model as the prices have dropped quite a bit. Thanks!

Read some articles and feedback that since this uses a different memory, it has so far have no similar issus with the 840 series

Upgraded my old mid 2010 MBP to SSD last October when I was in the US. I got a samsung evo 500gb. Best decision I've ever made. Then i turned the optical drive into a second internal drive where i placed my old HDD, then i bought a USB case for the optical drive and installed it there. I did everything myself with the help of google, and now it's been almost 2 months and everything is running perfectly and smoothly.

someone did it already, the only problem is that there are still no 3rd party SSD that will work for mac. What this person did was go on Ebay and bought an OEM 256 PCIE SSD and installed it.

dito sa pinas most likely para maka obtain tayo ng SSD for mac na may tamang firmware is sa mga sirang rMBP 2015 xD most likely sa GH :))))))) or via Ebay then tas johnny air padala nalang XD

^ Regarding switching drives, you can check instructions from ifixit.com if you want to do it DIY style. You can do a clean install of the OS or clone your hdd to ssd.

I upgraded my ram to 8GB a long time ago, but I didn't do it myself I was scared to open my laptop that time. But yeah there's a detailed instruction on ifixit on how to change you hard drive, though you need to have the proper tools.
