I signed up for the 60-day .mac trial account a few days ago. Problem is, everytime I access the .mac panel in system preferences I get the error below after the message "Getting .mac info."

"There was a problem with the sync operation.
    .Mac login failed."

Also, when I try to register my MBP at the Advanced Tab, nothing happens, i.e, the MBP doesn't come up in the list of "Registered Computers."

When I login at the www.mac.com, I am able to get in however. In fact, I was able to test upload a file into iDisk.

Anyone have an idea what's wrong, and what I can do about it? Thanks!

Make sure that your member name and password are correct. The member name should only be the name without any suffixes e.g. @mac.com

Thanks, lamski. Only my user name (and no @mac.com) is in the member name field. In fact, the account tab recognizes that I am under trial membership with so many days (now down to 57 days) left.

Hmm, could it be because my member name has a dot "." in it (like "name.letter")--but then again it accepted this name? If this the case, could I still change member name?
