i like to make this a project on my mac but I'd like to know first where I can have the finished project printed here in the Philippines and how m,uch it would cost me.
here's mine...just a test. i don't think ill even have the time to have it printed out for now... [Edited on 7.31.05 by jaeWALK]
hey, i'd like to try the iLife poster! i'm gonna choose some pictures na for new year's day i did a similar project which i posted on my blog... it took awhile to put together using this nifty app called MacOSaicX from versiontracker.com. "Pieces of Me in 2004" zoom in! quad 1 quad 2 quad 3 quad 4
hmm...nope, never really thought to have it printed coz it'd be rather huge (i think it has over a thousand pictures, and some were repeats). maybe next time i'll have a poster like this printed for my room, and i'll choose a better photo than of me eating a sandwich...haha! i wonder if the Close-up kiss billboard used macosaix too...?
Hi Poink, Just to correct the name of the program for easier search.. I just downloaded it and will try it out. Thanks for the tip. Its MacOSaiX 2.0a4 docnap
yap, had a hard looking for macosaicx are the mosaic pictures yours also or where they just random pictures? except for the base picture of you eating a sandwich...
thanks for the link, yeah its MacOSaiX where you can find also in macupdate.com By the way, too much cool application! Be patient to wait to generate the image. Its so much fun to watch the MacOSaiX virtually seach and match your Iphoto Library for the most appropriate position of the tiles. Great! Proud to post my son's photomosaic! Ive highlighted the eye detail also. You will be surprised! try it [Edited on 8-2-2005 by husayno]
ang husay 'no? that's really nice husayno.. a mac mini for the eye highlight. i'm just wondering how you can specify a certain image for that certain spot.
thanks xyno! its so happen the application finds it. No manual selection although theres an option there you can specifically place the tile. Galing talaga. Actually there are more 6 mac shots iin the mosaic. All part of my mac history. ALready printed the poster. Bagay pa sa anak ko kasi he was named after Macintosh, he he. hey husayno, where'd you get it printed? how many pics where actually used, makikita naman sa library eh
Microcadd centers in sm malls offers large format printing. They charge per sq inch. Judd: more than a thousand pics were used, but maybe the app shuffle na lang duplicates. I think it would be more perfect if you have more thousands of pics in the library.

Cool app! I'm trying it right now and although I've tried another mosaic application before the results of that application aren't as good as MacOSaiX. The thing I like about MacOSaiX is that it gives you a lot of options when sourcing your images. The mosaic I am generating now is taking it's images from an iPhoto DVD that I've saved that contains over 2300 photos. I wish I had a dual G5 though so that processing the photos would be speedier.
