Are you tired of flurry? I've been using this pretty spiffy quartz screensaver for a couple of months now so I thought I'd share this one, LotsaWater. As the name implies, it simulates rippling water over your desktop as a screensaver. It's quite accurate and looks really real when you have your display in a horizontal position. A little warning though; this uses up quite a bit of CPU cycles when activated especially when you turn all the settings up. Don't even think about running this full steam on an unplugged PowerBook/iBook if you want to get any work done after admiring the hypnotic ripples. I do fine with the bare minimums with only a slight hit to my battery life. The screensaver is Universal Binary and should work with the Intel Macs. Download here... 154K.
Thanks Gomi! This is so cool! The LotsaEscher screensaver on the same site is great too. Thanks again for the info!
Here's another cool site for screensavers http://www.zugakousaku.com/ Oks yung "The 20th Century Voyage"
Oooooppppsssss. Japanese na yung The 20th Century Voyage... Hehehe... sorry! My bad! I had the T20CV 1.2.1 International Flight (English Version)
any more cool screen savers gomi? my 2 yr old kid love it. right now she's not tinkering my laptop anymore... or she might get wet...
i was working with dominiquejames late last satursday night and he said he wanted to show me his screen saver. "you should get this," he said. "I have that!" i said. we had a good laugh. because of philmug, we use more or less the same things, macs, ipods, radtech sleeves, crumplers, moleskins, and... lotsawater!
A little OT, when screensaver starts, should it interrupt Internet connection such as when downloading stuff?
Do you guys notice that the ripples do not have the destructive effect when hitting another ripple? Or my PB is just too slow for me to ntoice it... Amazing though...
Thanks DJ for letting us (including Justin, Vince and especially Jose) know about this cool screensaver
