Re: need you help Is the LOTR game the Mac version or the PC version? If it's the Mac version, check if your MacBook has the required specs (CPU, RAM, Video) If it's the PC version, (check if you have the minimum specs) you can try and see if it will work under the Boot Camp Partition (I'm assuming you are running OS X 10.5). For that you need a copy of Windows to setup in Boot Camp, a minimum of XP SP2. If you just switched from using a PC to using a Mac and already own PC-based games, just install Windows in Boot Camp and install the game there and see if it will work. This is the only sure way to see if it will work on your system or not.
Re: need you help i don't have PC version of LOTR, I have a mac Book 2ghz version 10.4.11, is this enough for the game to run smoothly, cause i saw a LOTR game that cost less than 1k php but i have not yet checked it's specs.......I was hoping i don't have to buy any apps or accessories just to make it run smoothly.....If not then do you have any idea on what are the games that will run smoothly?????????????????????????
Re: need you help Check the Specs. If you don't have the minimums, it won't run. I'm not much of a gamer, so I can't tell you much regarding what games run or whatnot. Sorry. Wait a sec, the LOTR game you saw, was it for Mac or for PC? Because what I posted earlier still stands. If it's the PC version you still need to run in thru boot camp using a copy of windows.
Re: need you help ok i'll post the specs................ and what about the ClamX anti-virus for mac... Have you heard of this? Is This true?
Re: need you help AN Anti-virus for Mac computers????? And have you heard of this clamX av????? Or is it just fine not be bothered by this?
Re: need you help The ClamX anti-virus for mac computers? Do i really need an Anti-virus? Or it's just fine not to be bothered by it?
Re: need you help It's fine to not use one. At the current moment Macs are generally safe from viruses. Anything current won't affect the Mac The purpose of having an anti-virus is to scan your files to prevent passing on viruses to others (Example: You receive an email that has a virus attached. Since it was coded to affect Windows, it will not affect your Mac OS. You can, however, end up infecting someone else by inadvertantly passing it on to someone using Windows.) Also, if you are using Windows with Boot Camp on your Mac THAT is just as susceptible to viruses as any other Windows System.
Re: need you help Anti viruses for Macs have been around for years by the way. When I was in college 10 years ago, the Mac Performas & G4 towers in the computer lab had Virex Speedscan installed. Norton also sells an AntiVirus for Mac as well. ClamX is free, which is why a lot of people use it. I personally don't. Incidentally, you really don't need to use more than 2 or 3 question marks to show that your eagerness to have your question answered.
