i downloaded limewire and was able to use it a couple of times until recently. now, when i click or activate limewire, nothing happens. no error messages or anything. why is this so? i'm thinking, it might be something to do with my itunes update. is this related? my itunes is now ver 6.0.2

    anyone with the same problem?

    thanks! :)

I encountered the same thing...twice already. Its weird coz nothing was deleted or altered...when i clicked on the icon in the dock nothing happens.

Its been a month now since it stopped working...been very busy so i havent had the time to do anything about it.

Anyway the first time i encountered the problem i uninstalled it and reinstalled it again.

Hi. Nope. Haven't had the time yet to uninstall and reinstall limewire. How about on your end? Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling it again?

Does the Limewire icon in the dock have a little triangle on it? If it does, check if your menu reflects Limewire's menu.

If this is not the case, the next time you launch Limewire and nothing happens, immediately launch the /Applications/Utilities/Console app. It will show you a log of what happened last.

I've had the same problem as well and this if from the Limewire Pro I purchased. I can't use it anymore. Even when I uninstall and reinstall my Limewire, nothing happens when I try opning the app. I can't tell if it's related to the recent itunes upgrade or not.

My limewire didn't encounter any problems when I was running Itunes 6.0.2, and even now that I'm running 6.0.3. Have you tried repairing disk permissions?

I know there's a recent major limewire update which I'm using (and don't ask me what the version is right now since its at home) :)

Suggest you download latest and re-install.

you can try lookingk for all limewire files in your mac and then delete it. Then download the latest version and install. My friend had this problem on his ibook. Now its running

Can you try running Software Update and see if there are still stuff for you to update? I'm thinking it's your Java that's the problem.

When I fresh installed my OS X and applied the 10.4.6 Combo Updater, I thought that all Java updates are bundled with it. Apparently not, since I had to download two more Java updates when I ran Software Update again.

    Maybe that's the problem.

  15. Hi!

I'm having problems with limewire too.. I'm only using an ibook g4. When I upgraded the program, it said that there's a problem in the installer script or something? and when I digged in further, it said that there's a required java settings, which when i checked, is not compatible with my ibook settings

Is the new version of limewire really not compatible with ibook? I really need to use limewire again! how do I uninstall the latest version and just install the older version again? please help!!!

    Thanks a lot!
