I also have a 27 incher samsung gaming monitor at 144hz. but still prefer 4k 60hz. Those models that have 4k 144hz are crazy expensive still, at 60-80k range.

Ewan what's wrong wity my eyes, or baka justification lang at walang pambili ng 4k. :) I'm more relaxed looking at text on my 27in 1080p monitor one on my Air 11 of 2015. I suppose pixel is smaller in the AIr 11 noh?

    maybe its the size or scaling :) 1080p is perfect for 23inch or lower, 1440p for 24-27, 2160p for 27 - 32inch.

Just received mine from the apple store.
    Got the 16GB memory / 256GB storage.

    Ordered 2020 Dec 14
    Estimated Delivery 2021 Jan 18
    Received 2021 Jan 11

Hurray for "under promise and over deliver"

Exactly what it says in store.apple.com/ph
No additional tax or shipping costs if that's what you mean.

M1 Mac mini starts at 37,990
    add 12,000 for 16GB model

It's free shipping, and I don't know why they didn't add something for customs duties. Maybe coz we're not SG residents, so no tax? So the price in the Apple PH Store is all-inclusive, your landed cost. But compared to US prices, at current forex rate, it's only 33.6k. Or kahit patong mo piso per $ as the banks usually do with our credit cards, should only be 34.3k. So maybe that's why it's 37,990 dito.

Hardest part is waiting for the new toy. :)

I'm sure everyone will be getting an external SSD.

    M1 machines only support
    - 10Gbps USB C (and of course backward compatible with 5Gbps and lower standards)
    - and 40Gbps thunderbolt

This does not support 20Gbps USB C directly.

I'm baffled but apparently USB4 standard allows this.

So for about 6-7K put together an NVMe 1TB and 10Gbps enclosure from lazada.

Getting about 820MB/s for WRITE and 840MB/s for READ. Plenty fast IMO.

For the folks who just got the M1 Mini, hope you can also share what monitor you’ve paired with it, thanks!

Ours is currently connected to a 24" Mi Display 1A via HDMI. Nothing great. You can see flickering on certain light colors. Will definitely replace it with a better one.

Not here yet, hopefully next week. Pairing it with an old, cheap 27in 1080p SpecterPro with a 24in 1080p LG as 2nd monitor, both IPS. No plan (but more like no moolah) yet for those expensive 4k monitors.

Thank you. The reason I ask is that I have a 17-inch that I used for my old Mini that did only server duties. But if I replace my iMac 27 with a Mini, I'd need a bigger, better monitor.

Ordered Dec 31. Shipped out of SG Jan 7. Arrived Manila Jan 12. Still in Manila as of now, “shipment on hold.” Argh! They just really have to let it sit there and wait for the promised delivery date of Jan 27 before they ship it out to Mindanao? Ahehehehe...

Got mine 6 days earlier than "promised" date. But looking at those DHL tracking entries ... whew! Wag na lang tingnan sa mga naghihintay dyan. ;-)

Gee, I have that bluetooth issue with the Magic Mouse v1 on the Mini M1. Randomly happens, Mini announces it lost connection with the mouse, then reconnects a few secs later. I didn't have that problem at all with my Hackintosh using a bluetooth usb dongle. The Hac loses connection only when battery is exhausted. Replace batts and I'm good to go. I also use the Apple bluetooth keyboard at the same time this time. But in my Hac, I had the wired Apple keyboard.

My unit was cleared in Customs on Jan. 14, then "forwarded for delivery" the next day. Then "Shipment on hold" until it got here on the 21st. So maybe pandemic issues. But LBC / JRS shipments I've done the past week or 2 from Iligan to Manila took only 2-3 days.
