    Greetings fellow PMUGers!

Recently I was able to install Jaguar OS (mac os 10.2) in an ibook g4 1.3ghz 12 inch with 768 mb ram and 60gb hdd. My prob is I got a low screen resolution and I can't adjust it. I tried google and I can't find any video/graphic driver update to fix it.

BTW, this is my 1st MAC got it last wed only.

Any help will be highly appreciated. Tnx and GodSpeed!!!

Did you use the install disc that came with the iBook? The native screen resolution of the 12" iBook G4 1.33GHz is 1024x768. You're not seeing that in the Display options?

EDIT: mark_17 is right, Jaguar seems to be too old for that model. Your unit came out mid-2005, it should have come with at least Mac OS X Panther (10.3). You'll either need to use the included install disc (most likely a version of Panther), or the retail versions of Tiger (10.4) or Leopard (10.5).

I would also wonder how a 10.2 was successfully installed in that machine and can still boot. Could be that the HD was cloned or swapped from a G3 or older one.

Best solution as what the others suggest is to find and install 10.3 Panther or higher.

A fully updated Tiger 10.4 is the best OS for this Mac. While Leopard works, it is sluggish.

    Thanks Guys!
Actually I don't have the original OS anymore. I tried panther and tiger and it won't continue to the installation menu :(

BTW the screen is too small and I can't adjust it even if I see 1024x768 in the display options. Tnx.

Use the Tiger dvd. Open Disk Utility and format your Mac again Mac OS Journaled. Option: GUID. Then install. If you can't open the Tiger dvd, then the dvd rom cannot read it. However it should not have problems reading an oem disc ;)

You have a hardware issue. If the installer doesn't show up, swap out your ram. Another possibility is a faulty cd rom. If the installer menu loads ok then you have something else going on. I suggest you bring it to Ynzal. They have pretty much mastered these old machines.
