Sorry, anything related to apple is just new to me so here are my questions.

    a) When do they usually release iwork?

    b) if i buy iwork 09 then iwork10 comes out the next day/week/month, do i get a free upgrade?

    c) If not, does apple offer a lower cost upgrade from iwork09 to iwork10? or do i have to purchase the full iwork10 product?

    d) Does this process apply to ilife09 as well? Because if i buy a MBP in December then iLife10 gets released on January, then it might be better to wait until January so that i will already have the iLife10.... unless theres a free upgrade for a month or so.

    Thanks.

bro, mas ok yatang isipin when the best time to buy kasi if im going to spend 5K for it on december then lalabas na yung bagong version the next month after and they dont offer any discount on the upgrade, then it would be WISE to hold the purchase till january.

your suggestion na "just buy and dont worry" might apply to those who have lots money to spare...

Well you can wait for iWork '10 but hindi guaranteed na yearly ang labas ng production suite ng Apple. ulad ng iWork '06 to iWork '08... iWork '09 may be succeeded by iWork 11 since Apple is no longer hosting any event on January. June na sila kadalasan or March...

iWork '05, '06, and '09 were released/announced in January. iWork '08 was released in August. There was no iWork '07.

Not usually. Apple has only done this for OS X (referred to as the Up-To-Date Program).

Also no. Just like with iLife, there has traditionally been no upgrade package for iWork, there are only full versions.

Keep in mind that it's not guaranteed that Apple will release a new version of iLife/iWork in January, you might be waiting for nothing. Right now, Apple hasn't announced anything with regards to new versions of iLife or iWork.

They announce it on the day of release. If I were you I would just buy if I really need one. :)

I still have iWork 08, and no plans to upgrade yet since it still suit my needs..

Apple usually only announces products the day they're ready to ship. If they do pre-announce, it's usually only a few weeks in advance (iPhone was one of the major exceptions).

When Apple pre-announced iLife '09 and iWork '09 during Macworld Expo in January, it was only because they were forced to announce something significant but obviously they weren't ready to release them yet (this forced schedule is probably one the main factors that lead Apple to stop attending future Macworld Expos).

I wouldn't bet on Apple releasing a new version of iWork or iLife in January 2010. My guess would be sometime in March, at the earliest. This isn't based on any inside information, just my gut feeling ;)
