iTunes won\'t recognize iPod Hi! I have a windows formatted 4G iPod which I regularly use on my iBook. I normally use it while docked to play music through my iBook's speakers. A while ago, I ejected the iPod and immediately shut the iBook down. I don't know what happened, but apparently, the iPod didn't disconnect properly, and thus, right now I am left with songs not showing on my iPod. I also can't see the songs on iTunes (it just hangs when I connect my iPod). The good thing is that I am sure the songs are still inside my iPod's hard drive. The only problem is that I can't see the songs from my iPod's menu or iTunes. Reseting the iPod didn't work. So my question is this.. is there a way to make iTunes (and iPod) recognize the songs on my iPod's HD again? I know that the songs are located in a hidden directory iPod_Control (ata). Maybe if I can view the hidden folder to back up the songs located in there to my other HD (Pano ba mag view ng hidden files?). Then reformat the iPod then reload the songs again. Hassle lang nga but what can I do diba? Hope there is a simpler way though. Thanks! [Edited on 10.2.05 by barns]
Try podworks (or other 3rd party software) to retireve music/mp3's from your iPod to your mac, that is if it can detect it. Then, try to restore it via ipod updater. [Edited on 10-2-2005 by suavecito]
I've got iPodRip. It didn't recognize my iPod either. I don't know whether Podworks will do the trick, but will try that. Thanks! By the way, does anyone know how to view hidden files and folders? Try ko muna back up yung songs ko sa external HD.
