Hi everyone! Here's my question... I registered at the itunes music store using my US credit card a couple of years ago. I stopped buying music since I cancelled the credit card, but I still use that same account to get the free music every week. I just bought an itunes music card so I can actually buy music again, but I'm kind of paranoid about using it. I just want to make sure that when I click *buy*, the song doesn't end up getting billed to my old credit card and is instead, deducted from the prepaid music card. Is there any way to make sure the purchase doesn't go on the credit card? Thanks for the help!
well if you use the card won't you see your balance iin itunes. i had a itunes gift certificate once. when i regeistered it my balance reflected at once in my itunes. i still have .09c balance left hahahaha!
As long as the balance is on iTunes you shouldn't have problem. I've been a music card user for years now and I just replenish when needed. I don't think they will charge your cancelled card.
just a little OT, Can you use music cards in iTunes without a US credit card, since you need one to create an account, right?
for those interested, register via itunes but don't put your credit card info. you have to use a us address though. if you have an AIM account or .mac you can use that as well to login then redeem your music cards..
Okay, just an update... like I said my credit card info is pretty much void cause I cancelled it. I clicked buy on the store, and it led me to a window saying I need to correct my credit card information cause there was an error. Good thing I read chairman's post -- I took out that credit card info and now it works! It deducted from my prepaid card already. Thanks for the tip!!!
Can users outside of the US use iTunes cards bought at, say, Amazon? Papabili ako sa US ng cards then gamitin ko dito so I can download from iTunes.
Yup, in fact what I do sometimes is have a US-based friend or relative buy the card at an Apple store or Amazon, then just scratch off the backing and email me the number so I can enter it into my own account.
Vic, assuming I will use iTunes for the first time, they will accept me transacting here in the Philippines using the PIN of the card?
If I have a .mac account, can I use that to log into iTunes? I tried it once but it kept asking me for a US address. Does anyone know if a .mac account is enough to log into iTunes? Thanks.
...hi, question... I just tried creating a new itunes account without a us based credit card, but armed with a valid us address... still wont work though, says i need to fill in the credit card info. did i miss something? thanks in advance.
veering slightly off topic... There's a billing address and there's a credit card information address. The billing address must reflect a location in the U.S. (but can be a fictitious one as it is not verified). If you sign up using a credit card, it must be a real billing address, the one the credit card is actually billed to. You can create an account without having to use a credit card, but the way to bypass the credit card information section is through any of the following: 1. Use an iTunes (prepaid) Music Card (available online at the Apple.com Amazon, or at retailers like Target). 2. use an iTunes Gift Certificate, which can be purchased online with a U.S. based credit card (which you can ask U.S. based friends or relatives to do for you). The GC is normally sent via email, but can be printed out as well. 3. Use free song promos like that found under Pepsi bottlecaps Once you have an account, you can use that for Free downloads even if you no prepaid /credit left. That account can easily be reloaded using any of the above-mentioned HTH
