I've saved all my music on my external drive. Made it my Library source. So no music is on my laptop currently.

Now I want to take with me some songs in my laptop. I'd like to have a folder to contain selected songs..

    What should I do?

Any songs you add to the iTunes library when the external drive is NOT mounted, gets added to the default ~/Music/iTunes folder. So, just unmount the external drive, launch iTunes and add the songs you want to carry on your laptop. When the external drive is mounted, iTunes will resume using that as the Library location. IF the song added is in the laptop drive and not the external, iTunes will still be able to find it.
