ah yes, thanks! playing with home sharing on our pbook and imac, nice holy f, genius mixes is great! (sorry)
Awww... I was still holding back on updating my Safari to Safari 4. But apparently, Safari 4 is a requirement in order to run/view the iTunes Store (go figure). Genius, Apple. Now everybody has to install Safari 4. On the other hand, I'm loving iTunes 9. - I appreciate how the display shows you how much time is left for your downloads. - The new UI is good. The only beef I have is whenever I click the "+" button, the iTunes window just reduces in size. Pre-iTunes 9, doing so would turn it into the Mini Player. Now, I have to press Shift--M to do this. It's not a deal breaker but a hassle for me. - iTunes Store is awesome! You see more content and the different categories are now more accessible. App Store beef: - Prices are no longer displayed under the App Name (when you view the Top Apps). For me, it's easier if I can see the prices up front. That way, I'll know at once if there's a price drop. Oh, I prefer the black background for the apps and TV shows section in the previous iTunes version. Glaring white isn't doing it for me. Anyway, iTunes 9 is an 8/10 for me. Minus .5 for the mini player quirk, .5 for not showing the app prices readily, .5 for the white background, and .5 for making me download Safari 4.
I'm having a server error when updating Genius (iTunes cannot connect error) so I can't test the Genius mix yet. Although I can connect, browse, and download on the U.S. iTunes Store. I guess the Genius servers can't handle the load.
Can someone confirm if its already running in 64bit? It could be the reason why its snappier than the previous one.
Under the iTunes store, I only see the AppStore and iTunesU buttons. I couldn't see the other tabs (such as Podcasts). Is this it because I'm logged in as a PH resident? What does yours show? TIA!
No Podcasts, Music, Audiobooks, TV Shows, and Movies for the PH Store. If you want these, you need to avail of a US account.
itunes 9 breaks palm pre syncing once again http://www.macrumors.com/2009/09/10/itunes-9-breaks-palm-pre-syncing-once-again/
had updated to itunes 9 for both my imac and macbook... definitely better looking and functions... you got to activate home sharing. although its basically the same as the usual sharing of music before, the update makes it easier to share music library for at most 5 machines... also, you got to try genius mix... cool... still my wish that itunes store for music buying will soon be in the philippines
Wow! After years iTunes 9 finally gives us watch folders. It's a bit of a hack but it's the closest thing we have. http://lifehacker.com/5356619/itunes-finally-adds-watched-folder-to-automatically-add-new-music
Home Sharing. This is the feature I like most in the iTunes 9. Now, I can sync my imac and MBP libraries more easily. I have used a third party app for this and it was less satisfactory.
Since I updated, I noticed that folders in the Photo tab when you're syncing your iPhone can no longer be dragged in order to arrange their sequences. Am I missing something?
I'm really digging the new iTunes Store format. I love how easy it is now to switch from one store category to another. And I'm loving iTunes LP as well!
I installed itunes 9 on an Intel-atom based PC (asus EEE box) and I'm impressed with the performance improvements of itunes 9 even on "weak" hardware. The movie/music video previews on the itunes store are smoother and navigation is stream lined.
howcome my genius doesnt have the genius mix option? i followed the vid tutorial and it says wait for it to appear but, since a few days ago, "genius mix" under the genius tab never appeared even w/my attempts by right clicking, clicking genius/songs etc. im beginning to think my genius is retarded
