this has got to be the absolute bane of my mac existence!

my iSync and p910i have been successfully synced naman initially, but i have been having problems syncing them since then, sometimes kasi they don't sync at all! when i look at my p910i's bluetooth counter, it seems to automatically disconnect right after 5 seconds of syncing.

HELP GUYS! anyone know how to solve this bug? chaka kasi ng sony ericsson site e. windows lang ang syncing chika nila. im so frustrated!!! tried a search here pero brought out no results.

would appreciate any help from you mac gurus :)

    mwah!

What version OS? Panther or Tiger?

Tiger uses iSync 2 which installs a conduit on the phone unlike in the Panther iSync.

Normally, when I get glitches I always reset the phone first and if that doesn't work, try to repeat bluetooth pairing.

:qmark: oh my, i thought this (isync) is fixed already for the P910i's.

I just don't know if this trick will do the job. Open phone's calendar application, then turn it off, then Sync again. I know its weird but it solved my long time problem with my P900 .

there is a problem on the se phone side when being used regularly with "memory" full errors, however the os will not inform you of this and any bluetooth/ir connection will just be dropped. i suggest installing SMan on your phone to manage your apps and flush/defrag the phone's memory. also, turning on "support older phones" in the btooth pref.pane seems to help.

here's a trick, i did the same yesterday lang.

    1. Open iSync
    2. Add device
    3. If it fails, Open P900 Calendar apps, then exit immediately.
    4. Try adding device again
    5. If during the process (sending iSync config to your phone), follow step #3.

    Hi,

I'm also having problems syncing my P910i with isync. I can sync calendar entries (by turning off syncing for contact), but if i turn on contacts synchronization, the isync agent would exit abnormally on the phone. Any suggestions please?

    Thanks.

    Here's what you can try;

    - Remove the images in your contacts (the ones that appear on the speedial). It should work. If not,
    - Export all your contacts into Vcard format using a PC equipped with the SE software bundle and import it to the Mac's addressbook and then do a sync.

I must stress that you first make a BACKUP of the phone so you don't try to look for me and burn my house down if you lose all your data on your SE P910.

The only downside I saw was you will definetely lose the categories on your contacts if you allow the Mac's addressbook to override your phone.

    Good Luck.

P.S. You should also know that once the conduit crashes, you will have to manually restart it. Sometimes, this will even require a phone shutdown/power up.

Your mac should send the iSync config after successful pairing.

I also get the message 'device is not supported' for my p900, but my p910i works just fine. When i used the bluetooth setup assistant for the p910i, it allowed me to use iSync for contacts and events synchronization, which i didn't get before (it was greyed out) with the P900 (on os x 10.3.9). However, when i tried adding the p900, iSync said it wasn't supported. Oh well. Win some, lose some, i guess. Really sucks, though, and a helluvalot annoying.

Hi Dave_D, thanks for the advice. It worked for me. I sent all my contacts using bluetooth to my powerbook, imported it to the address book. Then deleted all the contacts from phone. Then I went to isync, then did a "Reset all devices". Now, I can sync my powerbook and P910i properly.

    Thanks again.

    Thanks.
