isquint for audio files

    ey guys need help regarding compressing my mp3 files so i cant put more in my mobile phone. Like what isquint does with the videos. links and tips would be much appreciated. have a nice day. :)

    you can use iTunes. in the importing prefs, adjust it to your desired bit rate, you'll have to experiment to attain the proper balance of size and quality. then simply right click on any mp3 to convert it.

    i know about converting mp3s using itunes but it would still be around 2-3MB. I was wondering if it could be around less than 2MB or even lesser the 1MB if possible with out sacrificing quality. in the case of videos using isquint i experienced compressing a 40+MB file and it became 8MB. ty for the replies

    slightly OT but somewhat related:

    I used QT Pro to "edit" an mp3, but now the file format is *.mov instead of *.mp3, and it won't sync with the ipod video. Anyway I can convert it back to *.mp3?

    Simpling renaming the extension doesn't seem to fool iTunes hahahaha

    You could open the .mov file in quicktime then export sound to aiff, then convert the aiff file into mp3 with itunes.
