hi.here goes my first thread. i am just wondering if the earphones that came with my ipod touch is covered by warranty. i bought the unit 3 months ago at DW. i just noticed this morning that the cable near the 3.5mm jack has been showing some wires. konti na lang, baka maghiwalay na. also, the length of the wire of the left bud is longer than that of the right. they're really not pantay. even if you gently pull them so that the cables are straight, you'll notice that they arent of the same length. they're working fine though. please help last question: if they are covered by warranty, can i have the earphones replaced at any DH/DW branch? im planning to go to DH Rob galleria because its the nearest. thanks! @mods: feel free to delete/merge this thread if it has duplicate/s. thank you http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3243/3739238828_c3c4d2585a.jpg?v=0 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2580/3738456977_96fd508883.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3449/3739244926_f22d0fb6e0.jpg?v=0 http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3494/3738440463_afedeec2e8.jpg?v=0 thanks again.
i believe they are covered by the same 1 year warranty as the unit itself. i had mine replaced when i the left channel went mute. took about two weeks at powermac
i would say that the reason for the earphones not being the same is because of the "practice" that if should one "earbud" fall off it will not bring the other "earbud" with it... which is "somewhat" more of a design than a "flaw" ...now having said this not every "salesperson" knows this "fact" which you can actually ask and see their "dumbfounded" looks at a possible explanation....
The Apple earphone included in every iPod packages are all symmetrical wires (Y shaped). What you mentioned is the asymmetrical (μ shape) which obviously was not (as seen in the linked picture). The μ-shaped wires has a huge discrepancy in length over the other earpiece not by just a few millimeters. I believe those earphones are defective and deserves to be replaced.
Was it like that out of the box? Or through use? The service centers (including Apple) might argue that both were caused by always pulling the earphones using the chord. There's no harm in trying though.
question guys. i bought the an ipod shuffle last summer. thing is i only use it when im jogging coz i use my other ipod for my other music needs. then this morning i noticed that one of the ear plugs, specifically the one with the controller, isn't working anymore. like i can't hear anything from it anymore. but the controller still works fine. i wonder if this is covered by warranty coz as far as i know all apple products have 1 yr warranty right? thanks
it's covered by warranty btw guys, i'm having problems with my sync cable naman same as rudedude, the cable near the usb plug is like ripped off and is showing some wires i'm not abusing the cord as far as i could remember, and i don't use it that much is it covered by warranty too?
went to pmc yesterday in trinoma. the guy just received my my earphones and told me that processing is 2-3 weeks which means im gonna have to keep on listening to whatever is playing in my ipod and not be able to browse through it while jogging. hassle.
i brought the earphones to irescue at DH v-mall. the tech guy said that they would report it to apple. unfortunately, apple did not replace the earphones since they thought that the damage was caused by misuse. when we bought the ipod, i noticed that the chords are not symmetrical. i just ignored this since it doesnt affect my listening. after a few weeks, i noticed that the end of the earphones is showing some wires na. i thought that if i will not bring it to service centers immediately, it might be torn into two. can i bring it to other service centers or like make a petition to apple to reconsider my case? my friends, who have bought their ipods year/s ago have still their earphones kickin. i think there's a deterioration in terms of the quality of earphones apple has been producing earlier.
what if the grey part falls off? i hope this is covered although im kind of hesitant to go have it looked at as im becoming a regular at powermac with all the problems ive been experiencing with my apple gadgets
newbie question: how does the ipod warranty work? the earphone of my 1 month old ipod seems busted. i checked the package but i didn't find any warranty booklet (just like in larger applicances) can I bring it to any apple authorized service center regardless where the unit was bought?
