hi i am trying to decrease the size of my wedding photos from 1.5 mb up to smaller once so i can upload them faster... is iphoto capable of doing this?
yes you can do it with iPhoto. just select all the images you wanted to be resized and press CMD+SHIFT+E and choose FILE EXPORT. from there you can save it as JPG, TIFF or PNG, then click on the scale image radio button and type in on the box the new size you wanted your images to be. hope that helped
As an alternative, you may also wish to batch resize your photos using Automator. It is easy, fast and painless.
Thanks DJ for the wonderful apps! I've been looking an alternative to Graphic Converter and goes well with my iPhoto.
thanks for the tip, really useful. btw, is it also possible to change the aspect ratio? for some reason, when i try to export the image, the settings are defaulted to "preserve aspect ratio" but i'd like to change the aspect ration in some of my images. how can i do that?
check out SmallImage. it's what i've been using best of all it's free. http://www.iconus.ch/fabien/smallimage2/images/Main.png http://www.iconus.ch/fabien/smallimage2/images/Infos.png
You mean, you wanted the images to appear taller or fatter (as the case may be and somewhat or somehow distorted), or, do you mean you want to crop the image to a different size/dimension?
This is an excellent find. The latest version has earned high marks from VersionTracker and MacUpdate.
yup, intend to make images appear taller and/or thinner.. seems that SmallImage will do the trick thanks dominique and j.
Yeah no problem booblanco.. glad to help and share some simple tips & tricks on using not just on iPhoto but Mac in general
i tried using all the tips (iphoto, small image and automator) ipohto seemed the easiest. small image changed and saved the original image as a small image... can i do this in a way that i can keep the original also? the automator was a bit too complex for me thanks
