Been wanting to create this thread, apart from the iPhone Photography thread, because there is much more to the recent iPhone models than computational photography (Portrait mode, Deep Fusion, etc.)—video! For starters, here's Apple's latest "showcase", a video shot entirely with the iPhone. And here's the "making of" that video:
Here's what I have been using recently for my video ideas: That's a 40-year-old lens from my very first film camera (Nikon FM), paired with my iPhone 11 Pro. Will upload once my shoots and edits are done.
Wow dandah Makes it so easier now to do that scandal we’ve always wanted to star in but were afraid to do because, porn stars may look like pork stars instead
I’ve also wanted to try these Moment lenses. The sample videos look amazing. Too bad they don’t come with skill haha.
Haha. The bang-for-the-buck competitor of Moment is Ulanzi—nearly the same quality as Moment lenses, but costs 80% less. I bought Ulanzi's 16mm lens for $15, which Moment sells (18mm) for $115! Just do not buy from the Ulanzi website; Lazada or AliExpress fulfills much faster and more reliably. Will upload some iPhone and Android clips from the recent U2 concert, where the iPhone blew a friend's Android phone away. Stay tuned.
Here's an unscientific comparison between a video taken with my iPhone 11 Pro and a friend's Android phone (I do not know the model, but he drives an Audi, so probably a Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel). But comparison aside, look at how well the iPhone preserves color and details. The image (the clouds especially) does not wash out, unlike the other phone's. And to think I shot that from the bleachers a 100 meters away. Impressive video quality! Oh, the original footage is much better too. YouTube's compression crushes/ruins image details. Here's a Dropbox link for the original iPhone clip, with all its glorious details: https://www.dropbox.com/s/rjkchx5a19h1dtc/WOWY-clip.mp4?dl=0
