Moved to SE as an experiment with how simple I can whittle down my set up. I got 128GB at 27k only.

I know its just a fluke but I'm not missing FaceID at all (esp. with the current situation). Error rate for TouchID is about the same (so far).

I tried and failed to simplify my life with the original SE so here I am trying again.

    2-week Impressions:

    1. Speed is about the same, RAM management is slightly worse since it has 3GB of RAM.
    • I have an iPhone 8 (2GB RAM) as control comparison and RAM management is indeed better on SE. The 8 would stutter a bit (sign that it's offloading apps in the background) when I go into my multitasking beast mode. Otherwise, launch time is a fraction of a second faster.
    • I suspect it'll truly shine 3 years down the line like how the original SE ran lapses over the 5s with iOS 12.
    2. Camera, really impressed with A13's image signal processor. Same optics as 8, confirmed. Echoing reviewer's sentiments: bright conditions (before sunset or even fluorescent lighted scenes) will yield about the same result as 11 (or at worse, XR).
    • It uses the new camera software & UI as 11
    • It video's audio is the same as iPhone 8 series but still 4K HDR.
    3. Battery life - necessary evil, on busy days it lasts until 4-5PM only unlike my 11's 7-8pm. (7am unplug).
    • Good thing I'm always near a wall plug, car with carplay etc.
    • Travel's off the table right now so, no extended periods without battery pack.
    4. Form factor - holy grail size (save for the rumored 5.4" iPhone 12)
    • People cheaping out will have it easy, the 11 wore me down in weight (even without the case).
    • For a person with an iPad Pro, this made me segment my usage better. My phone is now purely a communication device and helped me do my social media detox. Wanna watch YouTube? *grabs iPad*, Reddit? iPad. Calls, SMS, and IG? SE.
    • If you only have iPhone as your main computing device, I won't recommend using SE exclusively. better get a X at the very least. You can see more when handling documents.
    5. Display, Speakers & Comms
    • coming from 11, the 326ppi display is not a shocker, fits the same # of apps per page or widgets (iOS 14) as FaceID phones.
    • 11's speakers are clearer but loudness is about the same.
    • Ported over my dual sim set up no problem. (Globe eSim + Smart Physical Sim). Getting about the same coverage and speed in the same areas I frequent.

Can testify to this..Disclaimer: Not a rant or complaint, just sharing.

I bought an iPhone SE 2020 three weeks ago as a stop-gap while waiting for the iPhone 12 series and the battery life is very, very short compared to my iPhone 11 Pro (which I passed down to my wife). :D If I use it the way I used my 11 Pro (which consists of Youtube, Twitter, Facebook Messenger, Instagram and Apple Podcast) I can only stretch the battery life around 13:00 - 15:00 (unplugged 08:00). But the lightness and the ease of use makes this phone worth while. I never thought I'd miss using a phone one handed, so the iPhone 12 with a 5.4" inch display would be interested. I just hope the battery life on that would be better.

At the end of the day, a thicker phone with a larger battery is the the best way to go IMO. The SE would be a good choice for those who has uses an iPad most of the time and just needs an iPhone...well as a phone..

AJT Greenhills, Pick up. Deliver its 27,500. It's HK model but a quick look confirms its the same model sold here = warranty is honored here unlike some iPhone XS and 11 models.
