I was waiting for an SE refresh hoping to get a new phone that's just as capable but not as big. In the meantime, I got myself a refurb 2016 SE. I like it except that the battery doesn't last that long perhaps because it's not really brand new. So I was hoping Apple would release a new version soon.

They did but then it's bigger than what I wanted. I really just want dumb smart phone... if that makes sense.

At least now we know the cycle for SE phones is every 3-4 years. I hope the next SE would be the same screen size but smaller overall size without the bezels and buttons.

For what it's worth, Apple still does battery replacements for the iPhone 5 SE at $49 (give or take 2000 pesos). I was able to snag a brand new/old stock unit a year ago right around the time they were running their clearance sale.

The iPhone SE is an awesome employee's smartphone.

I wonder how much the iPhone 8/8 Plus will go for now?

This phone is great for the consumers overall. Android phone manufacturers will now have to come up with a decent mid range phone that can actually rival iPhone SE. I don't know any other device that has the processing power, camera quality and a 5 yr software support at this price range.

Do you know when will they start to release it for PH either via Apple's website or partner retailer?

Philippine pricing was hassle as always for 26,500php I honestly can buy a decent used iPhone Xs for that budget. I’ll wait for a true MVP here in Philmug to sell it for 20k. :sneaky:

I still would’ve loved if they did the same design as SE1. That iPhone was lovable. Cute actually. This new one is utilitarian. Like getting a sack of rice and 12 cans of sardines. Yeah, but why not Spam?

This is in no way a basic phone. This has the processing power of the 11s (under clocked though) and the camera is miles ahead in its price range. It has a 3gb (not 4 chief) ram only but its OS more than makes up for the lack of ram.

    Indeed a winner!

This will never happen, at least in a couple of years as its a regional thing. You can always get an HK unit bro.

Those are not minor complains bro. If you make it full screen, included FaceID, then it would not be $400 anymore bro :)

This phone has so many target users, mainly people who just wants to enter the Apple ecosystem without breaking the bank. Its not targeting current iPhone users actually.

Yes, I am aware of that as I have posted: "a great entry point to Apple cellphone-wise for the non-Apple budget savvy."

I think Apple can, and if it did, it would definitely sell a lot more. I would even switch to it and I'm an XS MAX user.

With the current situation right now, we’re all wearing masks, i’m really tempted to switch from an 11pro
