I've always viewed the price difference as more of a convenience (government bureaucracy, logistics nightmare, etc) fee since the resellers have a brick and mortar store. If anything goes wrong they can immediately respond to me and I can go to their store and bother them (in theory not practice). Unlike with just an online store like the Apple PH where items are coming from Singapore many logistics issues could arise just in shipment alone. The 2K price difference is negligible in terms of Globe/Smart's revenue as a whole so its not really for their protection. If Globe sells a million of phones on this launch that price difference would have only been .01 % of their revenues from 2020. Maybe on the authorized resellers? Like powermac / btb since I've no idea of their revenues

Mine’s slim but not exactly transparent, more like translucent. It was like 95 pesos when it was on sale here https://s.lazada.com.ph/s.3OJzn I’ll probably pick up another case as a backup though.
Got mine (and the missus). Picked them up from PMC SM Aura earlier this morning, set them all up, added dbrand skins and screen protectors, ready to go: No, the pink one isn't mine. We got the same case, @neilrg! I like these ultra-thin type cases, been getting them since the iPhone 6 days.

It's 8k & not 2k. That's more than the price difference between 128GB & 256GB. In other markets Apple web price is MSRP & the brick & mortar stores may have the flexibility of pricing it lower. It looks to me like Apple PH is providing a legal loophole for credit card amortization. Brick & mortar store then may provide cash discount for a psychology purchase place.

Went to vmall last week to pre-order, got my unit this morning. Got the best deal with the free tempered glass, 30w power brick and adidas sports headphones (thanks Charlie). PMC doesn't have guaranteed freebies, you'll need to be one of the 50 (?) to win the raffle to get the freebie albeit having a higher price (IIRC 23k worth of freebies).
